Every year the National Liberty Museum honors leaders in the glass art community to show our respect and support for individuals who are dedicated to the art form which is so important to our Museum. At our Friday night dinner at the Museum, we present awards in two categories: "Artists as Heroes" and "Collectors as Heroes."
The 2008 "Artists as Heroes" Award will be presented to Harvey Littleton and his Family. Harvey Littleton is considered the founder of the modern American studio glass movement. Harvey's son John Littleton and his wife Kate Vogel are a glass art team whose works are represented in major museums across the U.S. and Europe. Harvey's daughter Maurine Littleton is the owner of the Maurine Littleton Gallery located in Washington DC's historic Georgetown neighborhood.
The 2008 "Collectors as Heroes" Award will be presented to Richard Woosnam & Diane Dalto Woosnam of Philadelphia and Marilyn & Robert Birnhak of Bala Cynwyd, PA.
Participants in the entire Glass Now Weekend are invited to the Awards Dinner as our guests. If you are unable to attend the entire weekend, but would like to join us for the Awards Dinner, please call Meegan Coll at 215-925-2800, ext. 117.
